Then this recipe is just for you! In this video, My Virgin Kitchen shows you how to make some delicious cheesy mashed potato balls with bacon and chili and chives. My mouth is already watering.
Small bowl mashed potatoes
1 red chili, chopped
4 bacon rashers, cooked and chopped
1 tbsp. chives
Cheddar cheese (cubed)
Sunflower oil (for frying)
Sour cream and chive dip (for serving)
In order to make the mashed potato balls, follow these instructions:
First, prepare your mashed potatoes any way you would like.
Take your bacon, chives, and chili and add it to your mashed potatoes. Make sure to mix it thoroughly.
Add 1 egg to the mashed potatoes, and mix it in completely.
Form a ball out of the mashed potato mixture.
Then, take one cube of your cheddar cheese and stick it inside the mashed potato ball, and proceed to cover it completely in panko breadcrumbs.
Do these 2 steps a few more times until you’ve made as many as you want.
Refrigerate the mashed potato balls to keep them cool and firm. Keep them in the fridge until you are ready to complete the next step.
Next, heat your sunflower oil, and put one ball in for only about 10 seconds. Make sure to place the already fried balls on top of a paper towel or something absorbent that can sop up some of the extra oil.
After you’ve fried all your mashed potato balls, you are all set! Feel free to add any dips to them to give them even more flavor.
